The formation of a unique database on the pollution of the Tom River with microplastics continues
At the end of March, TSU ecologists conducted another sampling for the content of microplastics in the water of the Tom River. It should be noted that this work has been carried out for 2 years, regardless of weather conditions. Every month, a group of specialists goes to the monitoring station (the area above the communal bridge) to carry out work. This month, the task proved to be quite challenging – the sampling was completed within a few days. The obtained samples are collected in the TSU laboratory, where, after processing and analyzing the results, a unique database is formed. These results will form the basis for studying the trends in the distribution of microplastics in Siberia and are the starting point for a system of long-term environmental monitoring of surface waters in the Ob-Irtysh basin.
